Growing Runner Beans

We shared our runner beans seed out with other classes. Each class planted around 3. Soon it will be the holidays and our teachers will take them home to water.

We have planted the seed inside, on a sunny window by a heater.

The shoot was starting to grow up out of the soil.

The stem grew quickly and the leaves are getting bigger and bigger

Gardening club built a wigwam for the beans to grow up. 
Some of the plants broke at the top when we tied them up.

The beans are beginning to shoot where they were damaged.
It has been a sunny and rainy week. It is very cold on the rainy days.

Some of the beans are beginning to curls around the canes.

The plants have lots of tiny leaves. They are growing very slowing.

There are tiny buds appearing. They are very dark.

There are lots of flowers and the beans are spilling
into our pumpkin and courgette plants.
It is a bit tangled!
We have some very small pods of bean, about 1cm.
Mr Kinver is hoping he can eat them in the holidays!
We hope some are left for us in September.
