During the two summer months, plants were growing and paying us back our efforts.
The students who came and helped on the field, were always rewarded with a nice zucchini.
They prepared different dishes. One of the favourite is fried zucchini.

Roasted zukinnis with cheese

Cut the zucchinis in slices. Salt them a bit, then roast quickly on both sides. Cover them with grated cheese, roast and enjoy.

Zucchini lasagna

A few layers of lasagna noodles, and stewed meat, topped with grated cheese,
cream and an egg. All baked in an oven. It is marvellous!

Pumpkin soup

Cut and stewed Hokaido pumpkins.
Improved with some cream. Refreshing and healthy.

Pickled zucchinis

Never tried pickled zucchinis?

Do not hesitate…

… and see what goes best with Slovenian cold meats.

Sweet stewed zucchinis

You need 2 big zucchinis. Peel them and cut into cubes. Pour over lemon juice of four lemons, 2cl rum and approx. 100g sugar. Leave it to rest for a day.

Boil the liquid from the pumpkins with a litre of water. Add the pumpkins and cook for 5-8 minutes. Put the compote into hot jars, close and hardly wait to open them again.
