Blessing the food |
On Holy Saturday morning people decorate hard-boiled eggs and
prepare some food items, such as pieces of ham and sausage, some
cake, salt and pepper. Then, they put the food in decorated
wicker baskets and go to church to have the food blessed. The
food can be blessed throughout the day. On Sunday morning people
in Poland have a traditional big Easter breakfast and the first
thing they eat is a piece of the blessed egg. |
